An Invisible™ Dog Fence should not be introduced as a surprise. The dog deserves a clear lesson, a fair progression, and a family that understands how to support the process.
What Pro-Start™ Means
Pro-Start™ Containment Conditioning is my structured introduction to the boundary. I combine more than 30 years of professional dog training experience with the technical setup of the containment system. The pace is adjusted to the dog rather than forced into a one-size-fits-all schedule.
Awareness Before Freedom
The first goal is awareness. The dog learns the visual flag line, hears the receiver warning, and is guided back toward the safe area. We reward the correct decision and build understanding before adding distance or distractions.
Confidence, Not Fear
A dog should not become afraid to use the yard. The training is designed to create respect for a specific boundary while preserving confidence everywhere else. We watch body language closely and adjust the pace when needed.
Individualized for Breed, Age and Temperament
A bold young German Shepherd, a sensitive doodle, a determined Beagle, an older rescue, and a four-month-old puppy may all learn differently. I look at the dog in front of me and train accordingly.
Real-World Proofing
A dog does not live in an empty yard. The true test may be a deer, another dog, a bicycle, a child, a delivery truck, a boat near the bulkhead, or a squirrel who wakes up ready to cause trouble. Those distractions are introduced carefully as the dog becomes ready.
Family Education
I teach the people too. Everyone should use the same language, the same leash handling, and the same expectations. Mixed messages make learning harder. Consistency makes it easier.
When Training Should Slow Down
Illness, injury, major fear, extremely young age, poor collar fit, skin irritation, or an overwhelmed dog are reasons to pause and reassess. Faster is not better when the dog is not ready.
The Final Goal
The goal is not a dog that is constantly thinking about the fence. The goal is a dog that understands the boundary so well that the yard feels normal, comfortable, and free.
